Srinagar, July 17: The PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industries Kashmir has welcomed the government’s decision to allow home-stay accommodations in Srinagar. The chamber said the decision would boost tourism in the city and create employment opportunities.
The chamber said the decision would allow homeowners to open their doors to visitors, diversifying the city’s accommodation options and alleviating the strain on traditional hotels. The chamber also said the decision would promote tourism spending, which would have a positive impact on the revenue of local businesses.
“This momentous decision holds incredible promise for enhancing our economic conditions and generating employment opportunities within our community,” said A P Vicky Shaw, chairman of the PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industries Kashmir.
The chamber said it was grateful to the government for recognizing the immense economic potential of home-stay accommodations and for creating a platform for showcasing the rich culture and heritage of Srinagar.
