KCCI holds crucial Annual General Meetings on July 19

Srinagar, July 19: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry held its 85th, 86th, 87th, and 88th Annual General Meetings on July 19, 2023.

The meetings reportedly took place at Srinagar, commencing at 10:30 A.M. and concluding at 1:30 P.M. respectively.

According to the General Secretary of the Chamber, the atmosphere during these gatherings was warm and congenial, fostering productive discussions and decision-making. The circulated agendas for each meeting were thoroughly reviewed, confirmed, and duly approved/adopted by the attendees.

What are the Annual General Meetings all about?

The terms of reference of the KCCI’s annual general meetings include approving the annual report and audited accounts of the chamber.

It also discusses and deliberate on issues related to trade and commerce in Kashmir and occasionally passes  resolutions on matters of public importance.

The annual general meeting of the KCCI is held every year usually in the month of June. However, to the Covid19 pandemic and other legal issues, the previous meetings could not be held on time.

The meeting is attended by representatives of the business community from all over Kashmir. The meeting is presided over by the president of the chamber.

The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) was established in 1934 by a group of prominent businessmen and traders from Kashmir. The main objective of the KCCI was to promote trade and commerce in Kashmir and to represent the interests of the business community before the government.
