Srinagar, Feb 2: Kashmir Traders Alliance (KTA) and Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industries, (CCIK) have welcomed unsealing of shops in Aftab Market in Srinagar on directions of Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha and thanked the administration for paying heed to the concerns of business community.
In a statement to Ziraat Times, President KTA, Ajaz Shahdhar said that ” due to our efforts particularly Aftab market traders association, Kashmir Traders Alliance, we were able to take up issue with the LG administration and LG Sinha personally intervened and saved traders of the market.”
” We are thankful to the administration but at the same time we would like to appeal the officials to ensure that the trader community must not be harmed,” he added.
The Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industries, CCIK, while hailing the Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha and the Srinagar adminstration for the timely action of unsealing Aftab market said that the reopening of Aftab market is a big relief for the people of Kashmir particularly shopkeepers. CCIK President Tariq Ghani Bedaba said that sealing these shops would have been disastrous to the survival of hundreds of shop owners that depend on them for their livelihood. In a press conference CCIK said that all the stakeholders and particularly trade associations should be taken onboard while framing new policies related to business community.
