The Shehr-e-Khaas Traders Association dismayed over load-shedding

Srinagar (J&K): The Shehr- e -Khaas Traders Association President Bashir Ahmad Kenu has condemned the prolonged load-shedding during Ramazan in the Srinagar district.

“With the beginning of Ramazan, the duration of power outages had increased to 14 hours per day. This has not only caused inconvenience to the general public but losses to the trader’s community as well,” he said in a statement to Ziraat Times.

“They are installing prepaid smart meters in the city when there is no electricity,” he added.

“Even as we were given assurances that things will change, development will be at peak and Srinagar is being developed as a smart city, the condition of electricity has exposed all the false claims of the administration”, the Association further said.

The trade body stressed upon the administration to ensure continuous power supply in the city and that the installation of smart meters should be done once the electricity infrastructure is improved.
