KSL Dubai Final: Dachigam Hanguls lift the cup in exciting contest

Dubai, March 7: Kashmir Super League Season 7 witnessed a thrilling Grand Finale at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday evening with Dachigam Hanguls team lifting cup of the prestigious tournament.

The final witnessed Sopore Sapartans and Dachigam Hanguls displaying some of the finest cricket. A large number of Jammu & Kashmir expat community in UAE had turned up for the event.

 

In the Sunday’s Stone House Kashmir Super League7 T20 match, Dachigam Hanguls batted first and made a good score of 156 runs for 9 wickets with a calm and composed batting display.

While Sopore Spartans didn’t have a good start, losing two wickets early on, the team displayed some good batting and played very well in their attempt to chase the winning score. However, some high quality pace bowling from Dachigam bowlers didn’t let the opposing batsmen to settle down and eventually fell short of the target score by 20 runs. They lost 8 wickets in the process.

Moin Qazi, owner of Stonehouse Real Estate Dubai, was present on the occasion. Dr Shagoofa Arif, chairperson of Stone House Real Estate, was the Guest of Honour. Zubair Ahmed, Board Member of Springdale School, Dubai, Umar Shawl from Stone House and other dignatories distributed the trophies and medals.

Dr Ajaz Yasmin thanked the sponsors, participating teams and other support volunteers for the successful conduct of the event.

Bilal Wani (Dachigam Hanguls) and Muhammad Amin Aga (Sopore Spartans) were the top scorers, with 46 and 40 runs respectively. Amjad Khan from Dachigam Hanguls team made 28 runs. Majid and Zubair Shah were among the top bowlers who clinched two wickets each. Bilal Wani was declared as Player of the Match. Khalil Tramboo, Mudasir Bashir and Anzar Ashraf also  fetched 2 wickets each.

The award distribution ceremony was attended by a large number of Kashmiri expat community in Dubai. The event was sponsored by Stone House Real Estate, one of the leading Real Estate companies in Dubai.
