Srinagar, March 23: The UAE business delegation on a visit to Kashmir has announced that a J&K Business Centre is all set to come up in Dubai, aiming to provide facilitation support to J&K-based startups and entrepreneurs in the Gulf region in their business operations.
As previously reported by Ziraat Times, a 30-member UAE business delegation is on a four-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir to explore investment prospects in the region and explore business exchanges between the Gulf Cooperation Countries (GCC) and J&K.
While welcoming this move, Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) today said that the move could be quite helpful in expanding business exchanges between the two countries and encouraging entrepreneurs from the region to seek business opportunities there.
“We are also mulling to send a business delegation from J&K, from all business sectors to UAE for exploring the market for various kinds of produce, including handicrafts there”, Sheikh Ashiq, President KCCI said at the media meet.
Farooq Amin, Secretary General of KCCI, while speaking on the occasion said that the business centre could provide an opportunity to J&K’s entrepreneurs who want to explore their new ideas and new business environments. He said with such a centre these new entrepreneurs could get a chance to execute their innovative ideas in the global market. The business centre will be more kind of an incubation facility, he added.
Mr Amin also said some of these youngsters have been engaged by the UAE delegation and more possibilities in investment and learning could emerge.
With UAE liberalizing business startup and resident visa policies in the country lately, the news has been received with optimism in J&K’s expat community in UAE.
“The amazing way UAE has liberalized its business set-up policies and grant of resident visas, it is high time for enterprising business people to explore business collaborations between UAE and J&K. UAE is the country with one of the most remarkable ease of doing business climate and, with its immense resources, the country could play a key role in investment in J&K through joint ventures, thereby helping in employment generation and overall economic wellbeing of J&K”, remarked Ahmed Nazir, a resident of J&K, who works for a management consultancy firm in Dubai.
Meanwhile, KCCI welcomed the UAE delegation’s investment plans in J&K, and hoped that local businessmen will be also included in their plans through joint ventures and other collaboration mechanims.
