Srinagar, Jan 24: Several areas of Kashmir received fresh snowfall in the night with most of the snowfall activity in the southern areas of of valley.
According to the Disaster Management Department, Kashmir, the following snow accumulation was recorded during the night, in Anantnag District:
Pahalgam: 3 – 4 inches
Kapran: 2 – 3 inches
Kokernag: 2 inches
Snow clearance machines have been deployed to clear the roads.
Road from Gagangir to Sonamarg between Km 72 to Km 86 is closed due to fresh snow accumulation of 7″-8″ of snow. Snow clearance machines have been deployed by Project Beacon.
Snow depth in District Kishtwar recorded are as follows:
Marwah – 4 inches
Warwan – 7 inches
Machail – 6 inches
Ishtiyari – 4 inches
Bhatkoot – 10 inches
