PHDCCI expresses concern over killings of non-local workers

Srinagar, Oct 19: PHDCCI Kashmir chapter has expressed serious concern over the killings of civilians including non-local laborers in Kashmir.
PHDCCI, Kashmir Chair, Baldev Singh Raina and mentor PHDCCI Mushtaq Ahmad Chaya have condemned the killings and prayed for the departed souls.
Raina said “it is very unfortunate that poor non local laborers have been shot dead, they had come here to earn but their families are receiving their dead bodies. It is shameful. Kashmiris have always stood for brotherhood, tolerance and such incidents only tarnish the image of Kashmir.”
“These incidents will only bring bad name to Kashmir and at the same affect local economic sectors which are heavily dependent on these seasonal workers.”
Raina urged “Non-local laborers are the backbone of our economy, from industry to the fruit sector, they play a vital role, if they leave our economy will suffer, it is high time that we give them a sense of security and instill confidence among them to stay in Kashmir.”
“Kashmiriyat is known across the globe for its values, brotherhood. It is time that we as a society make them feel safe and comfortable here,” Raina said.
PHDCCI also expressed heartfelt condolences with the bereaved families and prayed for the peace of the departed soul.
