Diesel hits century in Kashmir – touches Rs 100.22 per litre

Srinagar, Oct 24: Diesel price in Kashmir has hit the historic century with the fuel on Sunday being sold at Rs 100.22/L at retail fuel outlets at 10:30 AM.

An official at a leading petroleum company told Ziraat Times that the price of both diesel and petrol were following the global cue in hike in crude petroleum prices.

Pertinently, central and state level taxes constitute a major component of the retail prices of both diesel and petrol.

Meanwhile, petrol price continues an upward trend as well, with the cost having crossed Rs 110.47/L on Sunday in Srinagar, petroleum company officials told Ziraat Times.

Premium XP petrol price also touched Rs 113.74/L.

Prices in Jammu

While prices of both diesel and petrol continue to rise in Jammu region as well, the prices are lower than Kashmir, where prices get inflated due to high transportation costs between Jammu and Srinagar and other district headquarters.

In Jammu diesel price was still under 100, selling at Rs 96.92/L on Sunday, while petrol price was Rs 106.63/L.
