Jammu, Sep 22: Jammu city is observing a one-day ‘Bandh’ called by the Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) to mark the region’s business community’s opposition against setting up of new Reliance stores and other economic policies  in the region.

Reports coming to city suggest that most of the shops and business establishments are closed.

Earlier, Jammu Kashmir National Conference, Congress, Peoples Democratic Party, National Panthers Party, Apni Party,  Aam Aadmi Party, Sarv Shakti Sanstha, Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan Party, Federation of Retailers Association Jammu, Dogra Front and Shiv Sena, J&K, All J&K Banquet Halls Association and Jammu Muslim Front (JMF) have also extended their support.

The Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industries (JCCI) alleged that businessmen in Jammu are facing the “highest degree of discrimination” due to the “directionless policies” of the Union Territory government like ending of age-old biannual darbar move, new excise policy and restrictions on banquet halls, among other issues.
