Kashmir tourism fraternity mourns Hafeez Shalla’s demise

Srinagar, 8 Aug: Kashmir tourism fraternity has mourned the demise Hafeez Shalla, a well known figure of Kashmir’s tourism industry.

“Tourism Fraternity has lost one of its key tourism player and Vice President of Travel Agents Society of Kashmir, (TASK). Mr Hafeez was a doyen of Kashmir tourism industry and a pillar for promotion of tourism to Kashmir since 1996. He was an adventure lover, a great mountaineer, a philanthropist, besides having a vast product knowledge on tourism”, said Mir Anwar, President of TASK.

Showkat Pakhtoon, Chairman PILTOF described him a good noble personality who would always support his fellow Collueges and share his good experiences. Nasir Shah, Chairman IATO – J&K Chapter & Convener of UTF described him a Flamboyant & Multi Talented Personality.

Mr Shalla was put to rest yesterday where in a large gathering of Travel Agents, Tour Operators, Hoteliers, Houseboat Owners & particularly members of TASK offered Nimaz-e-Jinazah.

“He was just one man Army who promoted Kashmir in the Streets of every town of Gujarat & Maharashtra from 1996 for many years, till tourism came back to is zenith. He was indeed a colourful personality and always encouraged youth to work with dedication & passion, said Shah. Ather Yameen, Secretary General TASK.

Those who described Shalla as a true professional, a humble personality despite his rich voice & paid glowing tributes to him are Mushtaq A. Chaya, President J&K Hoteliers Club, Ibrahim Siah, President SKAL, A. Hameed Narwari, Chairman ADTOI – J&K Chapter, Wahid Malik, President KHAROF, Rauf Tramboo, President ATOAK, Zahoor Qari, Chairman TAAI – J&K Chapter, Houseboat Owners Association, Boulevard Business Community. Senior veteran tourism players, Ghulam Rasool Siah and Haji Abdul Khaliq Wangnoo also condoled his demise and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
