Ms Babila Rakwal (KAS) Vice Chairperson Jammu Development Authority, in her address shared that Womens day is a day to introspect the long journey I have taken up and come to a level where people recognize and consider that I have made an achievement. I have been in administrative service of administration due to parent compulsion and what I believe is that whatever you do, you should do justice to your profession and you should be convinced that you are satisfied and successful women needs support from her family. It is an achievement to speak on day of Womens day as source of inspiration for women and we can be mentors for budding Women entrepreunrs. I attribute my success to my mother who contributed her maximum time for facilitating me and has been always on backstage for nourishing us and Infact my father was also an inspiration and great support for me and as has been said that behind a successful men there is a women I would say that behind a successful women there is always a men behind that success.

Ms Sargun Shukla, IPS, SSP Udhampur Jammu in her address said that a single day Brainstorm or webinar or an event will not be enough to discuss the Women as in police we are facing these things every day where we are dealing with women specific issues. We need to accept that women are integral part of our society. All social moments all social issues are incomplete without women and as I would like to share that my mother was an inspiration for me and she teaches us that always be provider never be a seeker and this will ensure you will be part of decision maker. She added that the purpose and aim of any occupation and employment is not only money, ultimately this should give you a purposeful life. Where ever I have been in J&K this is encouraging the acceptance of women in society is encouraging compared to other parts of country. We have nurtured talented eminent women folk of J&K. We should teach and raise our daughters to be strong and have a voice and opinion and at the same time you should teach your men and boys to accept these empowered women’s. We need learn to give and accept an equal space, be it a social or financial space and think about spending, investing your earnings and then only we can call it equality and we have to preach and talk about vigorously to educate our daughters.

Ms Sunaina Mehta KAS, Deputy Commissioner, State Taxes Enforcement, Jammu, in her address said that I am thankful to Rahul Sahai Chairman PHDCCI for organising this webinar and she shared her story of Successful life from a border village of Jammu where she had spend her childhood in conflict of Cross boarder firings . Ms Subah Mehta, KAS, General Manager DIC Jammu in her address said that I am honored and privileged on being part of this Virtual Webinar on International Womens Day and thanked Rahul sahai Chairman PHDCCI for having her . We all are here for a reason. This day is to empower women and that doesn’t mean we should superpower men. We believe that it is men who are handling these programmes and all success is to men for organizing these kinds of awareness among masses. I believe that women should be given opportunity in each and every field, increase in visibility; financial independence gender parity and then we can really say we have empowered women’s. But the situation is something different today as we are sharing programme with the successful women’s but there are number of women who don’t have success and opportunity in their life therefore, we need to promote and encourage these women and as a women that is our moral duty for all of us. I would rather say that also the respect from men is really an inspiration and support for women and lastly it is the education only that will bring great change in women.

Ms PD Nitya IPS, SP City North, Jammu in her speech said that I would like to wish all panelists Happy women’s day. She mentioned that when you will see from the administrative point of view the discrimination perception of educated women and illiterate is altogether different. What we have to appreciate is intersectional problem of society in which vulnerable becomes more vulnerable when he come with different set of background. The working of women itself is challenging because she has to counter and compete with his male counterpart back home who doesn`t have any family or children responsibility and thereby a Women has to balance her work and family altogether. We need to address this disparity of why men can’t take care of children’s or family.

She added that the journey of being an administrator is enlightened as we have to see different set of problems are being faced by Women and every woman at her capacity is struggling with her own set of problems, issues and challenges. We as a system has to give strength that each women is support to other women and as we witness to it that due to patriarchal setup we are associated more with men than women in family and we should counter the rivalry seen among our relations between the daughter in law and mother in law and other relations rather we should be support and to live in solidarity with each other and tackle the social, financial insecurity among ourselves.
