PHDCCI team led by Rahul Sahai calls on L.G. Sinha; present memorandum

Jammu, Feb 10: A Delegation of PHD Chamber Jammu, led by Rahul Sahai, Chairman PHDCCI Jammu, called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha here today and presented a memorandum.

The Lieutenant Governor was also presented a memorandum at the meeting which offered suggestions as to what the Government could do in sectors of Tourism for Jammu, Introduction Of Radio Taxis, Better Roads to tourist destinations, Medical tourism policy, Golf Tourism Promotion, Light & Sound Show at Balidan Stump , Development of Parmandal as day trip destination, Early Completion of Mubarak Mandi, Tawi Lake Project in line with Sabarmati, Jamboo Zoo, Suchetgarh in line with Wagah border, Gharana wet land development, Hop on Hop off busses for sight seeing of Temples of Jammu .

The issues discussed threadbare with the Lieutenant Governor included :

· The release of 2nd installment for interest subvention

· Free Hold Rights of Industrial land and JDA colonies Land

· Resolution of Gair Mumkin Khad As 70 to 80 % land of Jammu is named as khad

· Policy for Construction on land near Army walls as per country wide standards

· Requested personal visit to Transport Nagar Jammu

· Sick Units Due to Change in Govt Policies/ Taxes: latest example of Devan Modern Brewerages coming under bracket of sick unit due to levy of Rs 2 per bottle export duty

· Wrong Registration fee Charging by revenue Department : If an enterprise enhance a loan , Registration fee to be charged on only enhanced value but registering authority charging on valuation of the property , Needs immediate correction

· Delegation requested for early completion of Expansion of Jammu Airport in line with other Airports in the country and Requested pick up and drop facility near Airport Building , we request to make bigger parking so that cars can enter and drop / pickup passengers from the main building of Airport .

· Discussed proposal of Shutdown of Airport in March for 15 days by Air Force requested intervention for not to go for a long shutdown

· Payments to Hotels who have given rooms as quarantine centers still pending

· Request for release of 2^nd instalment of 5% interest subvention under 1350 Cr relief package announced , Some banks like HDFC have not received 1^st also

· The registration-road tax of 9% of New Vehicles in Auto sector needs to be rolled back

· Transport Subsidy for Raw materials for Industry

· Interest Subsidy for all the existing Units

· Power Infrastructure to be Augmented

· Allotment of Industrial land for Auto workshops and other service industry.

· Suggestions regarding Ease Of Doing Business (Industrial sector ) in lue of charges by SICOP/ SIDCO

· Rollback of 9% tax on new vehicles,

· Revision in Jammu master plan,

The Lieutenant Governor gave the PHDCCI delegation a patient hearing and assured that he would examine the issues presented in memorundum and will address the issues concerned in a time bound manner. He apprised the delegation that 2nd Installment of interest subvention will be released before March and the industrial policy will be notified soon and would be applicable from April 2021. The meeting lasted 60 minutes and ended with positive note and the LG was very receptive to the PHDCCI demands, the statement said.

The Lt Governor, while interacting with the members of the delegation assured that the suggestions made by PHDCCI would be looked into meticulously for consideration.
