JKEEGA resents flouting of transfer policy in JPDCL, seek transparency.

The Jammu and Kashmir Electrical Engineering Graduates Association [JKEEGA] today under chairmanship of Sachin Tickoo, General Secretary along with Ashok Kumar Dubey, Provincial Secretary, Rajeshwar Jamwal, Provincial Publicity Secretary, Yash Paul, Organizing Secretary, Purshotam Sharma and Vipul sharma Treasurers today held a meeting of its Executive Council wherein strong resentment was expressed by the members over the flouting of the transfer policy in the transfer orders issued by MD, JPDCL vide Order No 61-MD/JPDCL of 2020 dated 06/10/2020, 62-MD/JPDCL of 2020 dated-09/10/2020, a statement issued by the Association said today.

“The members decried the way the transfer orders are being issued in piece meals and a substantial shuffling should be done. Currently it has been witnessed that Engineers are being attached in corporate office before being deployed on the next posting even though various posts of Assistant Ex. Engineers are vacant at the time of the issuance of such transfer orders. Moreover, it has also been witnessed that no replacement is being posted against the transferee for quite some time and it handicaps the efficiency of the Division. While effecting transfers a roaster needs to be put to practice so that those posted outside their hometown continuously for more than two years should be given first priority while effecting transfer. There are examples that can be traced through posting details available with JPDCL that people who are outside continue to remain outside their hometown without a chance to serve in hometown and the transfer policy is being flouted brazenly right from the corporate office”, Er. Sachin Tickoo, General Secretary, JKEEGA said.

“JKEEGA being the guardian of the voice of the Engineering fraternity cannot remain mute spectator to the saga of the happenings in JPDCL and advocates for transparency on this account. It is pertinent to mention that important points related to work scenario of the field staff had been projected for immediate redressal which were pre-requisite for bringing in turnaround of JPDCL”, the association said in the statement.

“However, despite lapse of one month during this comparatively lean period for Jammu Province none of the points raised have been addressed. The points were pre-requisite for achieving objectives of reducing the AT &C losses, delivering quality power supply and meeting revenue requirement targets are achieved and laxity in this regard could prove to be detrimental for the overall health of the Jammu Power Distribution corporation and we as stakeholders are concerned about the lackadaisical approach of the management towards streamlining the working of the corporation and ultimately we as employees shall suffer if Privatization happens on account of poor progress”, the added.

“JKEEGA approached MD, JPDCL twice to apprise the management that the employees are willing to put forth their maximum efforts provided the management also creates the environment to streamline the overall working of the corporation and create transparency in the system so that people can be held accountable. Currently it is being witnessed that it is sad state of affairs in JPDCL and only transfers are being done as a matter of priority and that too for selective people. In the recent transfer orders, it has been witnessed that some blued eyed employees are managing their choice postings from Managing Director office in clear violation of the transfer policy rules notified by the Government in 2016”, the statement added.

“It is therefore appealed to the Principal Secretary PDD to kindly intervene and order an enquiry into the transfer orders issued from office of Managing Director JPDCL and such orders which are flouting the transfer policy should be rescinded to restore confidence among the Power Employees and engineers”, the Association further said.
