Srinagar: The Supreme Court today directed the Union Government and the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to respond to all petitions filed challenging the restoration of 4G connectivity in the State.

On informing the Court about the un-avaliability of Internet to the students and the impact on 27 lakh students in the state, the Solicitor General questioned whether all students have laptops, a spokesperson of J&K Private Schools Association said.

Supreme Court observed that the matter was of grave importance and refused the request of the respondents for a longer time to file response.

As the issue was of grave importance, it was noted, the judges directed the matter to be listed again next week.

The Petitions have been filed by Advocate Charu Ambwani on behalf of the Private Schools’ Association Jammu and Kashmir along with Adocate Soayib Qureshi, who is a practicing lawyer in the Supreme Court and a resident of Srinagar.
