TAAK, TAAC organise webinar on safe revival of Kashmir tourism

Srinagar: In the wake of the eased lockdown restrictions have been eased, the Travel Agents Association of Kashmir (TAAK) and Travel Agents Association of Chennai (TAAC) have undertaken to join hands for the revival of the tourism sector in Kashmir.
In this regard, a joint webinar was organised by TAAK and TAAC themed as “Kashmir Tourism”, Showket A. Khankashi, spokesperson of the associations told Ziraat Times.

Director Tourism Kashmir Dr. GN Itoo was the keynote speaker in the seminar who highlighted the efforts of the divisional administration, department of tourism and district administrations in containing the spread of Covid19 pandemic in the Valley with robust SOPs and vaccination programmes.
Dr Itoo informed that restrictions for the public and the travellers have been eased as around 80 percent of the service providers in the tourism sector are vaccinated and many villages and areas have achieved 100 percent vaccination.
“As Covid19 cases are decreasing, we are also gearing up to host tourists. We have put in all arrangements for safe holidays and ensure safety of both locals and travellers.”
He assured full support of the department to both TAAK and TAAC in attracting travellers back to the Valley.
The event was moderated and co-hosted by President TAAK Farooq A Kuthoo who delivered the welcome address and also introduced all the panelists and speakers.
Kuthoo proposed a FAM tour for TAAC so that they can themselves see the beauty of the Kashmir valley and promote the place among the travellers.
Joint Secretary TAAK Sajad Ahmad gave a detailed presentation on Kashmir’s tourism potential showing popular and lesser visited places, adventure sports activities, heritage, pilgrimage, MICE and golf tourism. Several videos on beautiful locations of the Valley were also screened which mesmerised the viewers.
Former President Peerzada Fiayaz who also spoke on the occasion gave a brief history of the Kashmir Valley touching various aspects of tourism also.
The Founding President of TAAK Rauf Tramboo highlighted the adventure tourism potential in the Valley and urged the travel agents to promote Kashmir as an adventure capital of the country.
Over 70 participants, mostly the leading travel agents from Chennai participated in the webinar who also interacted with speakers from TAAK during question answer sessions.
Later, immediate Past President Ashfaq Siddiq Dug presented vote of thanks.
