Pesticides Dealers Association Shopian takes a lead; call for timely testing, invoice-based sale

Srinagar: Pesticides Dealers Association, Shopian, has taken a lead and appealled the Horticulture and Agriculture Departments for ensuring timely testing of agro-chemicals and mandatory invoice-based sale to curb the menace of spurious agro-chemicals in the market.

The Association spokesperson after a special meeting of the dealers told Ziraat Times that the measure has been taken to ensure availability of quality pesticides in the market during the upcoming season for the benefit of the farmers.

It has stressed the government for aggressive and timely testing of pesticide products at company galleries and has appealed apple growers to buy pesticides with registered dealers with only a proper invoice.

“It is important for apple growers to buy pesticides from registered dealers with the due Batch Number written on the bill so that apple grower can legally take action if he would find some defect in the purchased pesticides”, the spokesperson further said.
