ZT News Network

Pattan: Citizens Forum Wagoora, Baramulla has appealed Director Animal Husbandry Department, Kashmir, Ms Purnima Mittal for filling the long vacant post of Block Veterinary Officer in Wagoora.

Representatives Naseer Ahmad Rather and Mohammed Yaseen Shah told Ziraat Times that after the government had established Block Veterinary Office at Wagoora Baramulla a Block Veterinary Officer was posted there between 2007 till 2012.

“Then due to unknown reasons no new BVO has been appointed till date. Block is comprising of 48 villages and having many Veterinary centres.
Even as the government has spent lakhs of rupees on the construction of block veterinary office located at village Wagoora but it is of no use and only 3 veterinary attendants are  presently working there”, the Forum said.

The issue has recently been taken up with Director Veterinary Purnima Mittal and according to her the government had withdrawn some blocks so the BVO is too called back.

Ms Mittal told Ziraat Times that she had recommended to the government for fresh approval and once it is approved she will appoint new BVO there.
