Reynolds Journalism Institute (RJI) FellowshipDeadline: Jan. 31, 2018

Media professionals with innovative ideas to advance the practice or understanding of journalism can apply to this residential fellowship at the Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute (RJI) in Columbia, Missouri. Fellows can be based at the University of Missouri or at the fellow’s own newsroom. Stipends vary depending on fellowship length, ranging up to US$10,000 per month. For more information, click here.

Reuters Journalism Fellowship Program Deadline: Jan. 31, 2017

Ambitious and high-achieving journalists can spend one to three terms at Oxford University with this research fellowship from the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism. Fellows produce an academic paper on a topic of their choosing while taking in Oxford’s academic, cultural and social life.

Spencer Fellowship for Education Journalism Deadline: Feb. 1, 2018

The Spencer Fellowship for Education Journalism, offered by Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism, allows journalists, educators and researchers to spend one year conducting academic research at Columbia University. Joan Shorenstein Center Fellowship at Harvard Deadline: Feb. 1, 2018

Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government is hosting the Joan Shorenstein Center Fellowship, which allows journalists to share, expand and research public policy and political affairs. Fellows spend one semester in residence at Harvard’s campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts, receiving a US$30,000 stipend over the course of the semester. For more information, click here.

Knight-Bagehot Fellowships Deadline: Feb. 15, 2018

The Knight-Bagehot Fellowship in Economics and Business Journalism allows journalists to grow their understanding of business, economics and finance for one year at Columbia University in New York. Fellows enroll in courses at Columbia's graduate schools of journalism, business, law and international affairs and attend seminars, briefings and field trips with New York-based media organizations and financial institutions. World Press Institute Fellowships Deadline: Feb. 16, 2018

Non-U.S. journalists can apply to this fellowship and expand their knowledge of American journalism and media. World Press Institute fellows will spend time at newsrooms in cities across the country, including New York and Washington, reporting on social issues and observing how the U.S. media covers these topics. Knight Science Journalism Fellowships at MIT Deadline: Feb. 28, 2018

Midcareer journalists who report on science, technology, the environment or medicine can apply to the Knight Science Journalism Program, a nine-month, two-semester program at MIT that aims to spur vigorous, accurate and independent coverage of science and technology. Fellows take part in seminars, digital media trainings, workshops, field trips and more. A $70,000 stipend is provided, along with other benefits. For more information, click here.

Data Journalism Awards Deadline: March 26, 2018

This year’s Data Journalism Awards, organized by the Global Editors Network (GEN), are open for entries. Twelve winners will each receive a US$1,801 prize and recognition at GEN’s awards ceremony in Lisbon, Portugal. Past winners include BuzzFeed, Quartz, The New York Times, The Guardian, ProPublica and La Nación, in addition to smaller outlets like Ojo Público, Civio Foundation and Convoca. J&K Primary Economy Internships Program 2018

What it is all about

The Primary Economy Internships Program at the Ziraat Times is an initiative designed to introduce students and practitioners  with keen interest in economics and development research, analysis and reporting to applied practice. 

This program will give an opportunity to students and practitioners of mass communications, economics, agriculture, food science and related fields to undertake quality research and writing in the areas of horticulture, agriculture, climate change, animal husbandry, fisheries, forestry, sericulture, floriculture, organic farming and related fields. 

What Ziraat Times has to offer

Ziraat Times shall provide basic training to the selected candidates in research methodology and data analysis.

The internship period shall be for a period of 3 to 6 months.

The training program shall include orientation on global best practices in development and economic research and reporting.

The interns shall be able to use Ziraat Times and other research premises for the period of their assignment.

Transportation support shall be provided to the interns for undertaking the field work. 

A certificate of acknowledgment shall be given to the interns at the end of their successful tenure.
