J&K Education Chamber welcomes new Chief Secretary

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Education Chamber today welcomed the appointment of Dr Arun Kumar Mehta as new Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir.

In a statement, JKEC Co-Chairman Showkat Choudhary said that the appointment of Dr Arun Kumar ‘will help J&K come out of the tough times and under his able leadership, the UT will fight out the Corona virus with full strength and will power, keeping the livelihood of common masses in due consideration.’ JKEC has expressed ‘full confidence in the abilities and administrative capabilities of Arun Kumar Mehta and expressed high expectations from the new Chief Secretary.’

JKEC also hoped that the new Chief Secretary will put the education sector among his top priorities and ‘will leave no stone unturned in bringing the education system back on track.’

JKEC expressed hope that Mr Mehta will take cognizance of the problems and hardships faced by the Private Educational Institutions during the current pandemic situation for last two years and will address the issues on priority so that the jobs of thousands of private school teachers, bus drivers and helpers, which is currently at stake due to financial crisis in private schools, can be saved and this sector is given a chance to contribute towards the educational upliftment of J&K.
