Srinagar: In light of the rising Covid19 cases in Kashmir, J&K Civil Society Forum has said that ‘keeping schools and tourist gardens open is highly conducive for rapid spread of the new variants of COVID 19 in Kashmir.
In a statement to Ziraat Times, Chairman JKCSF Abdul Qayoom Wani has asked the authorities to ‘pay due attention to the statistics of the second wave of COVId19 in Kashmir and the ever-increasing inflow of tourists into Jammu and Kashmir particularly Kashmir Valley.’
“In view of the general spike in infections among staffers and students the valley, the J&K Civil Society Forum demands the closure of schools colleges and tourist gardens as a preventive measure before the cases of infection upsurge to enormity.” Wani said.
“Keeping Tulip Garden open and inviting tourists by ‘melas’ is no wisdom at a time when health of the people is at stake. Tourism can wait but health is high priority. How can children resist the temptation of going to Tulip Garden when government conducts faires to invite tourists and there is ever increase of outside valley tourists? ” the statement reads.
