Batote, Jammu, begins high density apple plantation

BATOTE: On the occasion of launching of ultra high density apple plantation in Jammu and Kashmir, Department of Horticulture, Ramban, today organized a function here, which was inaugurated by District Development Councillor, Batote, Jagvir Dass.

At the outset Chief Horticulture Officer, Ramban, V.K Gupta welcomed the participants and deliberated in detail the benefits of ultra high density plantation and new high yielding varieties of apple on specialized rootstock having the potential to yield 50-60 tonnes per hectare against the present production of 10-11 tonnes, which will raise the income of farmers and their standard of living.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Member, Chairman, Municipal Committee, Batote, and Horticulture Development Office asked the participants to adopt the ultra high density plantation and latest techniques in Horticulture to raise the production and productivity of fruit crops.

Naib Tehsildar, Batote, AEO Batote, Sarpanches, Panches, prominent citizens and farmers from different panchayats of Zone Ramban also attended the inaugural function.
