Srinagar: Prof J P Sharma, the present Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-Jammu, has been appointed as acting Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-Kashmir.
In an order issued by the office of the Leitenant Governor, J&K, a copy of which has been made available to Ziraat Times, Prof Sharma’s appointment for holding the additional charge of Vice Chancellor of SKUAST Kashmir has been approved by the Leitenant Governor in his capacity as the Chancellor of SKUAST-Kashmir.
Pertinently, this appointment comes at the time of the superannuation of Prof Mushtaq Ahmad, Dircetor Extension, SKUAST-K, who was acting as the Vice-chancellor of the university for the last few months.
In its order, Raj Bhawan Secretariat has said that even as a search committee has been formed to appoint a permanent Vice Chancellor for SKUAST-Kashmir, the ‘process is expected would take some time.’
