ZT NEWS NETWORK

SRINAGAR: The J&K administration has directed all government schools, including higher secondary schools, to have new signboards with the tricolour in the background. Schools have also been directed to adopt ‘grey and white’ colour scheme for school buildings.

In a government order issued by the administration, the Shool Education Department has directed the heads of the institutions to install “signboards of a standard design with the tricolour in the background”, besides adopting the “grey and white colour scheme” for school buildings.

Heads of the schools have been asked to complete the activity by April 30 and submit weekly progress reports to the administrative department.

Informed sources said that the government is also planning an order any time in the summer about a standard uniform for students in government as well as private schools.

Meanwhile, the Department has designated a deputy director to monitor compliance with the directive at district level.

Till the scrapping of J&K’s special status under Article 370 in August 2019, the erstwhile state had its own flag, besides the national flag.
