PHDCCI J&K welcomes new ease-of-doing-business rules

ZT News Network

Srinagar, Feb 15: The Chairman PHDCCI, Kashmir, Baldev Singh Raina and Chairman Jammu, Rahul Sahai, have welcomed the decision taken by the Administrative Council (AC) for relaxation of pre-requisite ‘no objection certificates’ (NoCs) or approvals for setting up of a business unit in Jammu and Kashmir.
PHDCCI-J&K has been demanding these kinds of relaxation measures like prerequisite ‘no objection certificates’ (NoCs) or approvals, Baldev Singh Raina said.

In a statement to Ziraat Times, Mr Baldev said that the Udyog Aadhaar memorandum, as per the norms of the Government of India, requested by PHDCCI J&K earlier, would be crucial as it would be the only requirement for a business unit to be set up in J&K.

“Earlier, as many as 15 NoCs or clearances were required for a business unit to be established, that have now been reduced to a bare minimum. These bare minimum NoCs/approvals, which we understand, shall be required subsequently for which two sets of single-window committees have been established – one for business units coming up within industrial estates and another committee for units outside the industrial estates”, Mr Baldev added.

In order to create a business-friendly environment, PHDCCI has been advocating since long for the implementation of all 372 points of Business Reform Action Plan (BRAP) by DIPP-GOI and, therefore, we welcome the government’s approach in dealing with this, which, we believe would significantly improve the ranking of J&K in Ease of Doing Business, Mr Baldev observed.

Commenting on this move, Rahul Sahai, Chairman PHDCCI-Jammu, said that the government has also shown that ‘it is determined to act with urgency and impact both to keep the environment conducive for investments and also to mitigate the economic hardship and demands of J&K’s business community.’

“PHDCCI-J&K also supports the government’s approach to start the various relief and reform measures with the bottom of the pyramid as they are the ones who need it most urgently both in urban and rural India,” Mr Rahul further said.
