People’s faith in administration shattered amid snowfall: Hanjura

ZT News Network

Srinagar, 8 Jan: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed serious concerns over the administration’s “lackluster response and non seriousness in mitigating the problems being faced by the people of Valley due to heavy snowfall.”
In a statement issued here, PDP General Secretary G N Lone Hanjura said that “the snowfall has caught the administration napping and it has failed miserably in responding to the crisis and consequent problems faced by the people.”
“Despite advisories from the MeT department in advance, the administration failed to gear up resulting in innumerable suffering to the common man. Four days have passed by and yet the majority of the arterial roads and even main roads remain blocked. Electricity supply has taken a serious hit and there is a serious crisis of potable water availability in many areas,” Hanjura said.
“Even today, people are finding it hard to venture out. Those in need of urgent medical attention are the worst sufferers,” he added.
Making a special mention of Budgam District, Hanjura urged the administration to double down efforts on road clearance, restoration of power and water supply so that people get some respite.
