New COVID strain: JLNM admin now say no case detected yet

Srinagar, Jan 09: Administration of JLNM Hospital, Srinagar, on Saturday said that no one has tested positive for the new COVID strain, saying that they were misinformed about the two patients, who have recently visited from the United Kingdom.

Nodal Officer for COVID-19 at JLNM hospital told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that she was misinformed about the two UK returns. “No one has been tested positive for the new strain of COVID and the duo UK returnees have been tested positive for COVID-19,” she said.

She added that the tests for the new strain are not being conducted here and the samples are being sent for confirming it.

Earlier, she had informed that Kashmir has recorded first two case of new COVID strain after two Srinagar residents were tested positive. —(KNO)
