Director Agriculture stresses for achieving 100% spending targets

Srinagar: Director Agriculture Kashmir Manzoor Ahmad Qadiri today held an introductory cum review meeting with the officers of the department at Lalmandi.


The meeting reviewed the physical and financial achievements of
Centrally Sponsored Schemes and Capex budget.

While speaking on the occasion Director Stressed upon the senior officers of the department to work in a mission mode for achieving 100% target both physical and financial under Capex as well as Centrally Sponsored Schemes with in stipulated time. He directed Officers that all the initiatives taken by the department must be farmer centric and the commitment to satisfy the farming community. He directed the participating officers to ensure that the budgetary allocations to their respective districts under different schemes and projects should be utilized judiciously.

He said need of the hour is to identify and explore Agri-based sectors to harness the impact in terms of economy and employment. Manzoor Ahmad Qadiri stressed on maintaining close coordination among allied departments including Agriculture, Sericulture, Horticulture,
Command area development department for achieving the desired results.

He advocated for close monitoring, effective simultaneous implementation
of reforms at all levels. Qadiri impressed upon the officers to educate the farmers regarding advanced for mechanization as advanced farm mechanisation can improve the lives of farmers. He urged upon the officers to develop a road map for introducing farm mechanization.


Director Agriculture Kashmir Stressed upon the officers to depute field functionaries on the regular field visits to their respective jurisdictions
for awareness generation among the farming community regarding latest
technological interventions.

Officers of all districts besides other senior officers of the department
attended the meeting.
