Pahalgam Club not given to any private person: DDC Anantnag

Anantnag: There is no proposal before the government to handover Pahalgam club to any private person, Deputy Development Commissioner Anantnag, Kuldip Krishan Sidha said on Monday.

While talking to reporters, the Deputy Commissioner Anantnag said that Pahalgam club is the property of Tourism Department and will remain so in future as well.

He said that some persons are sharing wrong information on social media that Pahalgam Club is being given to some private person which is baseless and government is committed to rejuvenate club so as to attract more and more tourists.

“We have been conducting functions at the club and a day before, an NGO conducted two days cultural program there,” he said.

He said government is going to take serious action about these persons who share wrong information and want to disturb peace here.

He requested people not to pay heed to the wrong information adding that SSP concerned has been conveyed to lodge FIR against the persons who share wrong information on social media about transferring of club to some private persons—(KNO)
