ZT News Network

Srinagar: Federation Chamber Of Industries Kashmir (FCIK) has endorsed and supported the issues raised by State Crushers Owners Association (SCOA) delegaton led by Mr Randhawa with the Lt. Governor of Jammu & Kashymir regarding the problems faced by them while carrying out their activities.

President FCIK Shahid Kamili in a statement said that the association in its meeting conducted with Advisor Baseer Khan had brought the issue to notice of chairperson and had suggested that the SRO 302 of 2017 should be given the prospective effect so that the units formally registered with the Industries Department before the commencement of the said SRO can carry on with their activities without any hurdles imposed by line departments under the garb of said SRO.

More so the stone crushers are facing difficulty in carrying out their activities as no legal source of raw material is available since 2017. As a result, the units are on the verge of closure.

The owners of the units are being treated like drug peddlers by the various administrative departments. Stone crushing activity is a need based activity and all our infrastructural development, public or private, is impossible without it.

There are round about 800 registered units in J&K with an average of Rs 5 crore investment per unit and an employment of 30 per unit. Lt Governor was requested to kindly take serious notice of the issue and redress the issue.

FCIK has assured stone crusher units of every help and support and assured to resolve this issue. President FCIK Shahid Kamili said that they were taking up this issue of stone crushers at the highest level.
