Mudasir Ali, Kashmir’s wellknown journalist, passes away


Srinagar: Mudasir Ali, a well-known journalist from Kashmir, associated with Greater Kashmir newspaper and The Wire, has passed away.

Mudasir’s brother, Jahangir Ali, announced the demise on Facebook early Friday morning. He is reported to have complained of chest pain in the night while at home and died due to cardiac arrest.

Originally hailing from Chrar Sharief town, Mr. Mudasir has edited business and economy issues and written extensively on Jammu & Kashmir’s business and economy in daily Greater Kashmir, and is credited with covering and analysing some very crucial issues related to J&K’s political economy for many years. Lately, he has been writing for the The Wire as well.

Mr Mudasir, relatively young and healthy, has shocked J&K’s media community as well as his readers.
