JKEEGA urges LG Sinha to issue SRO on ACP for Engineers

ZT NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Electrical Engineering Graduates Association today held a meeting here in Jammu under the Chairmanship of Er.Sachin Tickoo, General Secretary and attended among others by Er. Ashok Dubey Vice President ,Er.M.P Singh, Provincial Secretary, Er.Rajeshwar Jamwal, Provincial Publicity Secretary, Er.Yash Paul, Organising Secretary ,Er. Parshottam Kumar, Cashier, Er. Vipul Sharma.

The participants deliberated on the issue of non-issuance of SRO of assured career progression in favour of Engineers even after a lapse of two years even though the same stands approved in favour of engineers by the then cabinet of the PDP-BJP Government.

It is worthwhile to mention that pursuant to the cabinet decision on May 12th 2018, the erstwhile state government issued the SRO of Assured career progression for Gazetted Services of Police but due to the change of Guard in the administration, the SRO in favour of the Engineering services didn’t get issued even though the cabinet approval for the same was already accorded along with the case of Police personnel. The cabinet decision had been taken after the budget announcement by the then Finance Minister on the floor of the House in favour of Engineers.

It is a grave injustice with the engineering fraternity that even after the Reorganisation of State and the role of engineers in the developmental activities has been appreciated by one and all still have to face administrative apathy and have been left in lurch. The Seventh Pay Commision by central Government has already extended the Assured Career Progression to the central govt employees and we were hopeful that after the Reorganisation all hurdles will be removed and SRO on ACP shall be issued on priority.

The Engineering fraternity finds itself helpless even though time and again in the last two years each and every corner of the administration has been closely followed but with no success. The fraternity under the Joint Action Committee of Graduate Engineers had also called on Sh.Satya Pal Malik Ex..Governor who had assured that soon the orders will be issued giving relief to the agitated engineering community. The members of the engineering fraternity from Electrical,Civil , Mechanical have been left with no alternative but to take up agitational path in near future as continuously our role in society has been undermined.Due to COVID-19, we have kept a lot of patience and stuck to the task of public service and remained steadfast towards fulfilling our responsibilities towards the public. It is therefore urged to the Lt.Governor Sh.Manoj Sinha Ji to kindly intervene and issue necessary instructions to the concerned quarters so that the Assured career progression scheme already approved in the erstwhile cabinet sees the light of day.
